Re: Managing Med Forms at Leadership

This course has been dropped from the LU 2014 schedule. Happy to have someone from your patrol put together a midway display regarding medical forms. If one or more of you is/are interested, please contact Dawn Jones at sdjones171@yahoo.com, who is coordinating the midway for LU. She would need to hear from you by February 1st.

Thank you,
Spencer

Hey Spencer,

I'm sorry I haven't gotten back to you sooner.  I've been trying to find a way to make this happen but I just can't seem to fit it in.  Sorry, maybe one of the other Antelopes can help.

If memory serves, there was an entire patrol that did this as a patrol project for Jim Roth's. It might have been Jim's patrol. Jim Roth was going to try to get more information about who was in the patrol, but I don't think it ever happened. It would be a great course offering if Jim (Pappin) or someone else from that patrol would be interested in doing it.

Hello Craig & Jim,

Last year, there was a course called "Managing Medical Forms" in the Health & Safety college, but I think that it was overlooked or missed during the scheduling process. Ultimately no trainer was identified, and the course was never held. I think we should consider getting this back on the agenda. It's an important topic in all units, and one that I think a lot of folks find difficult to manage effectively.

Jim Papin was a participant on Jim Roth's WB course and completed one of his ticket goals around this idea. He developed a system within his troop, 325 in Fairport, for collecting, securing, and managing these forms. As part of this work, he also constructed two safe-keeping boxes that were permanently and securely mounted in locations convenient to troop leaders. I thought that Jim might be interested in sharing his experiences with this, and turning it into a "course" for other leaders at Leadership University.

Jim, please let us know your thought on this. We are in the process of finalizing the schedule in the next few days, so I apologize for the short notice. Leadership University is being held at Saint John Fisher College on March 1st, and this course would be taught from 3:00-3:55 in the afternoon. I would be very pleased to have you join us as a trainer, and I hope that this is a topic about which you'll be able to share your knowledge.

Thanks to you both,
Spencer
